Coin entry, escalator and magnet

Pick what goes in, insert it, pull the handle. A good quarter passes the gauge, ignores the magnet, clears the jump and lands in the escalator, where the detector unlocks the handle. The wrong sizes fail the gauge. A steel slug is slowed by the magnet and misses the jump. A brass slug the right size gets through, which is why the escalator is a window. A quarter on a string can't be fished back past the pawl. The side view shows the escalator stepping on the pull and the top coin leaving for the routing point (§3.2).
