Below the fingers: the levers, the slides and the coins
Same pull, side view. Six slides are stacked under the tube and the coin column runs down through all of them; each slide holds a slice of it (2, 3, 4, 4, 5, 2 quarters, top to bottom). When every finger a lever needs has dropped, that lever lifts the locks on a set of slides. The fork pushes the whole stack every pull; only the unlocked slides travel, together, each carrying its slice out to the cup. The count is the sum of the slides that moved.
